We thought to finally compare brownie versus whitey! The original powder-coated aluminium louvred facade is now being reconsidered. We’d rather a soft white [or maybe pink] laminated film on glass for simplicity and elegance on avenueK’s 170m long facde, not withstanding the fact that we have external lighting to contend with and retailers just can’t get enough advertising space anywhere they go, so we felt ‘obligated’. Somehow.
There was a time when we held the view [to this day] that avenueK ought to be an all-white scheme, and so here it is. And the columns, now that they are NOT white we take the view a revision is on its way to carry the snowy theme more faithfully. The black columns were there in the first place to carry the podium together with a black floor along the entire length of the pedestrian walk.

The facade of the podium was originally conceived to promote advertising whilst retaining the maximum amount of daylight penetration into the stores behind. Aluminium louvres have been installed to date to a brownish timber colour. We anticipate more development in this area, subject to feedback from the authority and Client brief. There’s a very good chance we might make this a seasonally changing skin.
